Who Makes It

Fromm pet food is made by Fromm Family Foods, a fifth-generation family-owned company based in Mequon, Wisconsin. The company describes itself as the country's first and oldest premium pet food company, and it sells dry and canned dog food lines including Classic, Four-Star and Gold. 1, 2

Where It Is Made

Fromm says it owns and operates two dry food and treat plants in Mequon and Columbus, Wisconsin, a frozen dog food facility in Columbus and a wet food cannery in Eden, Wisconsin. The company says every bag and can of its dog and cat food comes from one of these facilities. 3

History

The Fromm business traces to 1904, when four Fromm brothers began farming ginseng and silver foxes in Wisconsin, and it built a food plant in Mequon in 1925. In 1949 it launched Fromm Complete Dog Meal, which it describes as a scientifically formulated complete and balanced dry dog food. The company added a second dry food plant in Columbus in 2009 and a cannery in Eden in 2016. 4, 1
