Size Health Nutrition sorts recipes by a dog's adult size, from X-Small to Giant, and most sizes have separate puppy, adult and aging versions. All 28 kibbles use chicken as the only named animal protein, usually as chicken by-product meal. All four wet recipes combine chicken and pork. No recipe is grain free, and brewers rice, corn and wheat appear throughout the line.
Kibble protein runs from 19% in Small Indoor Adult to 32% in Giant Puppy. Estimated starch runs from 31.6% in Medium Puppy to 49.3% in Small Indoor Adult. Compared with the 1834 kibbles in our catalog, the line averages 25.2% protein against 26.9%, 40% estimated starch against 37.4%, and 334 kcal per cup against 395, all as fed. The four wet recipes average 7.1% protein, while the wet catalog average is 8.3%.
The trade-off is sizing over variety. Owners can find a recipe for almost any size and age, but every kibble relies on the same chicken base. Fourteen of the 28 kibbles and three of the four wet recipes include peas or lentils.
