"I and love and you" is a Boulder, Colorado pet food brand that sells dry food, wet food, toppers and treats for dogs and cats, including the Baked & Saucy, Naked Essentials, Nude Super Food, Lovingly Simple and Top That lines. The company describes itself as the top independent pet food brand in the natural channel and says its recipes use real meat as the first ingredient with no fillers. The company says most of its products are manufactured in the USA, with a few items, including the Irresist-A-Bowls dog meals, sourced from Thailand. It says most ingredients come from the USA or Canada, with some ingredients, vitamins and minerals sourced from countries such as Australia, Argentina, Thailand and New Zealand. 3

The brand launched in August 2012 in 26 Whole Foods Market stores in the Rocky Mountain region, founded by Marty Grosjean, Brendan Synnott, Chris Bentley and Steve Ball. In February 2022 it received a Series C investment led by L Catterton's Growth Fund, and Michael Meyer became CEO. In March 2026 it acquired the cat food brand Made by Nacho, and in August 2026 Dan Waters succeeded Meyer as CEO, with L Catterton described as holding a majority stake. 4, 5, 6

Worth Knowing

In July 2015 the company voluntarily recalled 1,299 cases of Cow-Boom! Strips Beef Gullet dog treats after Colorado Department of Agriculture sampling found Salmonella. No illnesses were reported at the time of the announcement. 7
